Hi there, I’m Clara Nartey. I love to dance, I drink too much tea, can’t sing that well, I’m a frequent smiler, a Christ follower, and a mother. Also,
I’m an artist, an entrepreneur, and an educator.
My art is bold, colorful and bright. It’s influenced by my African heritage. I create works about joy, identity, beauty, belonging, and resilience, to honor my ancestors and to inspire the youth. Learn more about my art by following the quick links at the top of this page.
What I discovered is that by giving my art the time and effort it deserves, I’ve become a prolific artist and my life has more purpose and meaning. I moved from creating 11 pieces of artwork one year to creating 50 plus pieces the next year. My work was accepted into several juried art shows and I hosted my first solo art show. I won awards for creative work, got invited to curate regional shows, got featured in publications and so much more…
As a self-taught artist, I learned the hard way. So now in addition to being an artist, I’m an educator. I teach other artists professional development skills. My aim is to share all I’ve learned in order to give people some help along their artistic development journeys.
