
Clara Nartey, a self-taught artist, was born in Accra, Ghana and came to the U.S. for her masters degree. She then developed her unique artistic style which meshes mark-making using threads, with digital painting, machine embroidery, and quilting.
Nartey’s bold, colorful, and textured works have been exhibited widely including at Heather Gaudio Fine Art, Carnegie Center for Art and History, and Morris Museum.
Her work is held in both private and institutional collections like that of Yale University. She’s also been featured in publications like Contemporary Art Issue, Artforum, and Create Magazine!
