I’m honored to have four of my art pieces currently showing at the Indian Hill Country Club in Newington CT.
This is an invitational show for the officers and council members of the Connecticut Women Association.
I’m a member of this prestigious organization. And for the past few years, I’ve been a member of the board (or council). Occasionally, the council members are invited to enter their artwork into an exclusive council show.
This is how I got four of my pieces in this beautiful exhibition. Here’s the promotional flyer that was sent out for this exhibition.
Exhibitions by the Connecticut Women Association showcase an array of art including drawing, illustration, painting, sculpture, printmaking, photography, mixed media, clay, metal, and fiber.

I attended the opening reception for this exhibition last Thursday at the Indian Hill Country Club. The club is located on a vast piece of land with sprawling golf courses. A very scenic place indeed.

It’s always a treat to have her come along with me, though. But now that she’s growing older, I let her decide if and when she wants to attend an art event. I quite understand that since I attend too many of these events (at least more than the average person), I can’t expect her to come with me every time.

For example, this weekend I’ll be attending another art event where I will be working with a team of artists to transfer art pieces from a receiving location to the venue of an exhibition which opens on September 1. The following weekend I’ve got another art event to attend.
So who can blame a teenager for not wanting to spend ALL her summer weekends “art-trotting”.
I certainly can’t!!

The exhibit is on view until September. So stop by to go see it if you can. It’s in two separate rooms, a smaller room with the small pieces of work (shown above) and a bigger event room which has on display some bigger paintings.
