Statement: This piece is inspired by the kente cloth. Kente is a colorful fabric that in the olden days was worn only by African royalty. Each of the colors represents something. For example the color yellow represents gold, wealth and prosperity. Kente is now incorporated in different fashions worldwide. This art is part of a three-piece series called Kente.
