Hey Creative Friend,
- Are you tired of taking so many classes – learning such interesting techniques but not finding time to finish the projects you started in class or even practice those techniques on your own so you could master them?
- Do you buy tools, gadgets, and art supplies and then leave them in the packaging and don’t use them because you haven’t found the time to try them out?
- Are you a creative business owner who misses opportunities to collaborate or grow your business because you’re overwhelmed with working in your business instead of working on your business?
- Do you have all the time you need, in fact everyday feels like Saturday for you, but you’re not getting much done?
- Have you become a captive to deadlines? Are deadlines controlling your life
Imagine if you could …
- shave a few hours off your busy schedule every week and devote that to your creative work
- look at your todo list and not feel apprehensive but know exactly how to get those things on your list checked off
- practice your techniques, finish your projects and see tremendous growth because you’re spending a few more uninterrupted hours every week working on them
- be less stressed and more in control of your creative business because you’re managing your time better
- feel accomplished at the end of your week because you were not just busy, but we’re able to get things that really moved the needle for you, done ✅

Hey Creative Friend,
I’ve been telling you about my new online course Time Mastery for a while now. I know you’re as excited as I am. Time Mastery for Creatives is almost here. Just a couple more days and you’ll have the opportunity to enroll in this new course.
The excitement is at an all-time high right now. 🙂 Many of you have been sending me questions and and I’m more than happy to answer your questions. So, keep them coming. I want to give you more details about the course, hopefully, you’ll get answers to some more of the questions you have.

I’m so proud of all the work I’ve done in putting this course together. I’ve been creating content for years and I’ll tell you, hands down, this is the best content I’ve ever created. It’s exactly what I wish someone had taught me at the beginning of my creative career several years ago.
Often, when people ask how long I’ve been an artist for, they get amazed that I’ve only been doing textile art for such a “short time”. At first, I didn’t understand what they meant. To me, the years are long.
However, after hearing that comment over and over again, I started to understand what they were saying. How do you get so much done in so little time?
This is what I’m teaching in my new online course – Time Mastery for Creatives. Everything I know about using your limited time effectively so that you can get the most done with your creativity – explore it, enjoy it, express it, and share it with the world.
Managing my time and building my creative practice around my personal life is one thing I nailed down early in my creative career and I want to share that with you.
I had to do a lot of trial and error, go around in circles, make mistakes, till I could figure it out. When I did, it had a huge impact on what I could create even though I was still raising young children and working other jobs.
When you master your time, you’ll have the space to master your craft.

Hey Creative Friend,
Today, let’s talk about how I find the time to “do it all” because, it’s really one of my frequently asked questions.
In addition to creativity, I have a wonderful family and three amazing children whom we’re raising, I’ve volunteered a lot of my time to my church’s activities – mentoring the youth, planning events, and teaching.
I’ve also volunteered my time to my art organizations – developing exhibitions, creating websites & catalogs, and managing communications between members and galleries.
In the mean time, I work crazy hours outside my home, caring for seniors several days a week. Additionally, I’m taking photos, recording videos, writing blog posts and newsletters, and developing training programs for my creative friends.
It’s a lot. I know.

When I started on my creative journey seven years ago, my youngest child was barely a toddler. My other two children were still in grade school. My hands were full. And I was working full time while trying to create art on the side.
It was not easy. But I was motivated. I wanted to create art. I had so many ideas and so much to learn. But very little time to get it all done.
However, I knew that the only way I could become like the people I admired, was to create a ton of work like they did, and to be consistent.
Playing small was definitely not going to cut it. I couldn’t create just a couple of hours at the weekends and expect to do great work. So, I knew I had to figure out how to master my time.
I tried different things. I’ll wake up earlier than my kids to get some creative work done or go to bed several hours after them. Or sometimes, I’ll bring my projects with me to appointments or other events; trying to kill two birds with one stone.
There were times when my efforts worked and there were times when I fell flat on my face – I didn’t get the results I’d hoped for.
However, I didn’t give up. The thought of becoming this amazing creative person who can create awesome things fueled my quest to find time for my creativity.
Over the years, I’ve learned what works and what doesn’t. I’ve discovered that I have the power to design my life in order to give me the time I need to do what truly matters.
Since those early years of learning to master my time, I’ve put all that I’ve learned into a framework that I follow. This framework has helped me to consistently achieve more every year than I did the previous year.
In the beginning, all I wanted was to find time to create work. However, my framework has helped me master my time and manage more complex schedules.
I’ve learned to make time not only for art making, but time for exhibitions, for building relationships with other creatives, time for working with publishers, time for blogging, and all the other activities which go into creating art professionally.
My tested and tried time management and productivity framework is what I’ll be teaching you in my upcoming 6-weeks long training program – Time Mastery for Creatives. In this program, you’ll learn to:
- set yourself up for success, whether you’re a beginner or matured creative
- design your projects so that you can finish what you start
- decide the best time of day for you to effectively work on your creative projects
- design your own creative practice that fits into your lifestyle rather than someone else’s
- develop consistency in your creative practice so that you can experience growth
- make time to manage complex as well as multiple creative projects as you grow from beginner to matured creative

Hey Creative Friend,
I’ve been working on something really special for all of you my friends. Let me give you the background on this.

I launched my website and started sharing my creations with the world in April 2014. It’s been almost seven years since I began on this creative path.
And what a ride it’s been!
During this time period, my life has been completely transformed beyond my wildest imagination. I’ve published a book, coordinated two major traveling exhibits, created a ton of artworks and I’ve been widely featured in different types of media.
I’m grateful to God for all that I’ve been able to do. I’m aware that there are many people who started way before I did and they haven’t been able to accomplish as much.
It hasn’t been easy.
I’ve had to juggle a lot in my life to make all of this happen. One of my secrets to doing life while creating art is rooted in the time management and productivity strategies that I’ve developed over the years. I believe it’s one of the most important things I can ever share with you,
It doesn’t matter how many awesome tools you have, how expensive your sewing machine is, or how many technique classes you’ve taken with celebrity teachers. If you can’t make the time to do the work, your creative skills will not grow. You’ll not create excellent work and you’ll not open the doors to amazing creative opportunities.
I want to teach you how to make time for your creative projects.
Here’s a quote from the philosopher, Shoppenhauer:
“The common man is not concerned about the passage of time, the man of talent is driven by it [time].”
Talent alone is not enough. It has to be coupled with time mastery in order to produce results. Being able to master your time will significantly impact your creative practice, how fast you grow, the quality of works you’re able to create and the opportunities you’ll be able to take advantage of.
If you’re interested in finally mastering your time, so that you can dedicate this valuable resource to making your best creative work, then get on the the VIP Waitlist and be first to get notified when enrollment opens for Time Mastery for Creatives.

Years ago, after I’d had this blog for a while, I started getting requests to teach. Initially, I wasn’t sure I wanted to teach (See me answer that question below). Then as time went by, I started thinking about creating some courses to satisfy the constant request for me to teach.
The thing was, I didn’t have clarity about what I really wanted the outcome to be for my students. Of course, I wanted them to learn the course materials I’ll be teaching. But after that, then what?
Nah!!!
Teaching for teaching sake wasn’t enough for me
I was looking for an overall meaning or vision that’ll make me teach. And without that I really didn’t have the direction I needed to make progress.
In fact, if you peeked onto my laptop right now, you’ll see a folder called “Courses to Teach”. I started creating courses – different types – some on creativity, others on fiber art, and some on professional development, years ago. There were a couple I completed but never let them see the light of day. And there were those I hardly made any progress on. I kept changing my mind as to what I really wanted to achieve with my courses.

It wasn’t until March of this year, that I finally got clarity on what I truly wanted to accomplish with my courses. I wanted to take my students on a journey that will lead to a transformation in their creative lives. It wasn’t enough for me to have my students learn my course materials. I wanted to make an impact in their lives. I wanted them to be transformed. To be better off for having taken one of my courses. That was it!
Finally, I knew what I wanted my courses to be about.
That’s when I became unstuck. I became free to go and create the courses I wanted.
Put clarity before effort

You see, it wasn’t lack of effort that had kept me from creating courses all these years. Actually, I’d exerted a lot of effort as you can clearly see by the many folders I have on my laptop. Not just that, but the countless hours of videos I’d filmed and several workbooks I’d created for courses I never published, painted an even clearer picture.
Frankly, the hours of work that has gone into unpublished courses is unbelievable. And the amount of money I paid for three years to maintain an online school that I didn’t use is simply ridiculous.
But as soon as I got clarity, I started charting a clear path.
I didn’t even go back to my unpublished courses. I started work on creating a new course because I knew exactly what I wanted. I wanted to take my students through a journey, to give them an experience – not just a course . And that wasn’t quite available in any of the courses I’d previously created.
And now as the year closes out, I can confidently say, I’ve created a course that delivers the experience I had in mind to create with all my courses.
Here’s what lack of clarity does:
That’s the thing about clarity, when you don’t have it, you
- waste time doing busy work that doesn’t result in real progress
- get stressed and overwhelmed by what needs to be done
- lack direction because you’re being pulled in many directions
- don’t complete projects
- waste money
On the other hand, when you gain clarity, you become unleashed. Obstacles and distractions become obvious for what they are. You’ll quickly learn that, sometimes good things can become distractions because they don’t help you move towards your destination. Moreover, with clarity, you’ll accomplish in a short time what you’ve been trying to do forever.
You’ll accomplish more in a short time with clarity than you will do by trying all your life without clarity
Zig Ziglar is quoted as saying, “Lack of direction, not lack of time is the problem. We all have 24-hour days.”
As we close out the year, how are you feeling about how your year went?
Were you able to do most of what you wanted to do? If you spent time going around in circles and feeling stressed about your progress in specific areas, it certainly can’t be because of lack of time. As you know, this year, each of us has exactly 365 days to ourselves.
Lack of clarity is costing you big time. It’s not just in dollars and cents but in the progress you didn’t make and the feeling of accomplishment you missed out on. Do you have clarity on why your creativity matters? Can you articulate why your personal creativity is worthy of your time? Can you identify the obstacles in front of you?
When you have clarity, it changes things around you. It becomes easier for people to support you to get what you want.
In the coming months, you’ll hear “Vision 2020” said a lot. The new decade is about clarity and vision. Don’t enter 2020 without vision or the clarity you need to achieve your dreams.
Take The Clarity to Create course and gain clarity for the journey ahead.
When I gained clarity, I became unstopped. In six months, I created a course I’d been trying to create for three years. And I’ve got another course in the pipeline, which I’ll be releasing shortly. And another for next year. It’s like the floodgates opened when clarity came in.
What are you waiting for?
Take the course and unleash your creativity.
Look ahead to next year by this time. What will you be saying as you review your year 2020? Did you get the clarity you needed to unleash your creativity? Or were you stuck with a lot of uncompleted projects and no direction to move forward?
You can choose NOW what the ending of 2020 is going to look like for you.
Warmest regards.

Hey creative friends! If you subscribe to my newsletter or social media channels, then you may have already heard about Facing Art Quilts (FAQ) Simplified— woohoo! Either way, I wanted to formally introduce it to you all here on the blog. I’m really excited about this!
Back when I was trying to decide what kind of edge finishing to use on my fabric pieces (because bindings don’t always work), I discovered facings.
Just think about it!!! Why would you want to create a portrait quilt for example, or some other art quilt and finish it with a binding which will cut off the portrait at the edges of your quilt top? No way!!! You’ll want the design to run all the way to the edges as shown in these photos.

After I mastered how to do facings, I started getting a lot of questions about my techniques for making facings. So, I knew that a course about using facings is just what my people needed.

But this isn’t just a course about facings. This step-by-step course is about making a nicely squared quilt, reducing bulk at the corners, and allowing the design on the quilt top to flow all the way to the edges – and thus keeping your viewer’s interest in your quilt.

I’ve figured out how to make facings in a way that is simple and consistently produces great results. Actually, using the techniques that I teach in this course, I’m able to spend less than an hour to finish the edges of a small to medium sized art quilt. I’ve successfully used this technique to finish the edges of thirty (30) PLUS textile art pieces.

Facing Art Quilts Simplified isn’t just about finishing your textile art piece. Nope! It’s about going pro. It’s about making your art quilts stand out!!! More importantly, my technique is so easy you’ll fall in love with it. And that’s not all. Just wait till you start getting compliments on your faced edges. 🙂
You can check out everything that’s in the course right here.
See you inside the course.
