Hey Friends, a while back I sat down and did a podcast recording with the amazing Brandy Maslowski on her podcast show – the Quilter on Fire Podcast. The name alone should tell you all you need to know about the podcast.

The Quilter on Fire Podcast
The Quilter on Fire podcast involves interviewing people to have insightful discussions about quilting and fiber art. On her podcast her aim is to find out the stories of her guests and what brings them joy
We talked about my story, my creative journey, where I started from and how I got here and some of the things that bring me joy.

It was a truly lovely conversation.
Brandy herself has a very interesting story of how she started this podcast. It was a way for her to unwind from a “spirit-crushing” career as a firefighter. Now, the Quilter on Fire Podcast has become an established podcast enjoyed by many people all around the world. Brandy has been quilting for more than 30 years. In addition to the podcast, she teaches and organizes quilt tours.

Podcasts are wonderful ways to meet new artists and learn more about them in their own voices. You can easily listen to a couple while you’re in your studio working or in your car running errands. I find it interesting that each time I do a podcast , the host is able to bring out different aspects of my story that I may not necessarily have told before.

Go take a listen
I enjoy doing these interviews. I was nervous when I did my first podcast interview. Since then, I’ve had the privilege to be invited to a couple more. With each new interview, I actually learn more about myself from the questions the hosts ask me. Sometimes you don’t think about something until someone questions you about it. That’s how I feel about these interviews. In some ways, they’re opportunities for me to reflect on my own creative journey.
The Quilter on Fire Podcast did not disappoint. Brandy had intriguing questions and we had a good convo. Lots of laughter too.
Warmest Regards,
