The Never Starting Weekend
I don’t know about you but when I hear the word weekEND, I think of the start of something fun and restful. However, over the years, it seems to me the week never ends for the weekEND to start. The week just seems to roll into the weekEND.
Maybe, that’s the problem right there – how can you expect something whose last name reads END to ever start. It just might have ended the moment you so much as thought about it, let alone vocalized it.
For several weeks now, I keep looking forward to the start of the weekEND so I can just stand and stare. But what with three young children, an active lifestyle and a passion to create, I seem to always have something not called “rest” scheduled for the weekend.
So last weekend, I decided to START the weekEND ( can I still say start of the end?) by penciling in REST on my calendar.
When it got time for REST, I decided to go to the beach. It was simply amazing! I just laid down and enjoyed the rest of the week. I would usually read a book when laying down at the beach, this time I didn’t even bring one with me.
I just wanted to enjoy the sights and sounds of nature with my eyes closed. Time just flew by without me noticing. It was indeed the rest of the week for me. I don’t know what it was, maybe the change in name (from “weekend” to “rest of the week”), or something else that I can’t put my finger on. But whatever it was, it made my weekend (no strike that out), it made my rest of the week FANTASTIC!
You should try it too. Think of the weekend as the rest of the week for you- as in your break for the week. Then all week, look forward to and plan the rest of your week for the weekend. The notion of the busy weekend filled with errands and multiple tasks will soon fade away.

Hope you enjoy the rest of the week this weekend 🙂 Peaceful and serene as mine was.
As always, I love to hear from you. Comment and tell me how you are planning to enjoy the rest of your week, this weekend.
Warmest Regards,
I like this one. Rest of the week instead of the end of the week sounds like a swell idea. Kudos for chucking the book and having a true “me-time ” I don’t know if I can have a true me time with no book??? 🙂
Yes, I know. Books are great and very relaxing for me but sometimes when I’ve been reading for long periods of time, I find that closing my eyes shut relieves me of eye strain.
