Fiber art blogs provide us with information, inspiration, a way to learn new techniques and to connect with a community of creators.

If you’re like most of us creative people, you’re always searching for new ideas and ways to do things differently. Fiber art blogs serve an important role in providing this kind of information and much needed support for fiber artists.

Blogging, just like anything which requires consistency, is not easy to do. When you have to blog consistently as well as maintain a consistent creative practice; then balance all that with  family and work, that’s a tall order for any human.

I’ve been blogging consistently since 2004. As much as I enjoy blogging, most times, it takes a full day of work to publish a blog post.

The Process of Maintaining a Fiber Art /Creativity Blog

Creating a blog post means writing the text and creating the blog graphics.

Then when it comes to photos, that also involves a lot as well. The photography part starts with taking the photos. Then you’ve got to choose which one to use, edit and resize them.

Next, you’ve got to create create social media images to go with the post. Currently, I create one for Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest. And on those occasions when I decide to add a freebie, like a workbook, or a step-by-step guide, that makes the hours add up real quick.

I continue to create this type of labor-intensive content because I believe my community of creators – my creative friends – deserve not only valuable content, but quality content as well.

So, when you’re doing something because you’re on a mission to create opportunities for other people, it’s really nice when your hard work is recognized.

I submitted my blog for review by a website called Feedspot which provides a way for its users to keep up with all their favorite news websites, social media, and blogs in one place.

And last week, I received an email which reads in part:
