Is this supposed to be the first day of spring or what? It’s snowing again and schools have been dismissed early. When parents thought they’d seen the end of winter and early dismissals; Old man winter said, “not so fast kiddos, I’ve still got a few more tricks up my sleeve for you.”
We will still celebrate spring, in spite of the snow, wouldn’t we? Even the plants are celebrating. I bought a pot of tulips a few days back and as though on cue, this morning, my red tulips began to bloom. Surprisingly, it looks like the plants know to start smiling because first day of spring is here. Seeing them bloom made me smile too. I hope you are hanging in there too.
If you’re feeling down because of the crappy weather or are suffering from a case of cabin fever, go out and see art. That’s been my remedy. Time flies when you are having fun. If you are creative then spend the time creating something. If you’re not creative, then go look for something to cheer you up like beautiful spring flowers.
I might be taking advantage of the snow on the first day of spring to create something new. I’d planned to try “snow dyeing” (that’s using snow to dye fabric) this year, but although we had so much snow, I didn’t get to do it. Mostly because I didn’t want to get out there in the cold to try it out. So maybe, just maybe, this might be my chance to try it out before spring comes around in earnest and there’s no more snow to play with.
I hope you’re not letting the weather put you down. I’m not. Even Google has put out a beautiful ‘window’ display of spring flowers, today. If the giant computers at Google are celebrating spring, why shouldn’t I. And you should too.
Thank you for reading.
